Wash day Routine With Revair | Is it Worth the Hype?

I was able to get my hands on the oh so fabulous Revair and I’m going to be completely honest… I had no idea what it did or how to use it. I’ve seen many people on Instagram using the product and how they were all amazed with their results. Well, what do you know, a year later I’m contacted by the company and sent one and of course I accepted. And since I’m mostly a hair influencer, I rarely turn down the opportunity to accept new gadgets that have to do with hair.

What is the Revair?

I received this question several times on Instagram after I posted a series of stories. Questions included: Is it heavy? Is it loud? Does it actually work? I have 4c hair will it work? Ummm Wtf is it? lol This made me happy to know that I wasn’t the only confused Nancy in the bunch.

Just for your information, yes, it is heavy, loud (similar to a hair dryer or blow dryer).

The Revair is “The World’s First and Only Reverse-Air Dryer” and a fairly new product on the market, launching in 2018. The Revair is a blowdryer that makes life easier. It not only dries your hair but it straightens it and in terms of natural hair, will even “stretch” your hair.

It does all the hard work for you all at one time. Your hair is BASICALLY sucked into the wand and manages to dry, straighten, and stretch your hair. You’re basically eliminating the use for an actual blow dryer & flatiron.

Does it work on 4c hair?

The Revair claims it works on all hair types such as curly, straight, wavy, and coily. I’m not sure of my hair texture, but I can say it did a damn good job. If I had to guess, I would say my hair is a mixture between being heat damaged, definitely type 4, and hmm coily/curly.

How Long Does it Take for Your Entire Head to be Finished?

The time it takes will vary depending on the amount of hair you have as far as length, thickness, and texture. They recommend keeping the wand on each section for a total of 30-90 seconds long. You may need to keep it on longer if you have super long thick hair.

Although I didn’t really time each section, I do believe I spent about 60-90 seconds on each section for a “more straight” like finish. I also want to mention, the longer you keep the wand on each section, the straighter it will also become. My total head took a total of 40 mins. Like most Millenials, I don’t read instructions even though it was provided, so keep in mind, I didn’t know what I was doing for the first 15 mins.

How do I use it?

Luckily for you all, I have a video showing you guys how to use it. Click to watch! But before you watch 3 things there are 3 things to remember when using :

  1. No pumping
  2. Hold close to the root
  3. Type 4 Hair works best at levels 5-7

Is it worth the Hype?

Yes! I actually liked the Revair, honestly I needed this product like yesterday ago lol. My hair was very straight by the root, felt soft, didn’t feel fried, and was a breeze to use. Obviously, for a more sleek finish, you will have to flat iron it, but that’s the least of my worries. I just need my hair straight enough to be able to put it in a ponytail underneath my wigs or to braid without having to fight through tangles. I feel like this product may even prevent heat damage because shockingly enough “the hottest level” wasn’t really hot. Yet, my hair still managed to be super straight, frizz-free, and still shiny.
